

Featuring DISCatcher Pro baskets and rubber tees on a course that's mostly par 3s. This was the original Hole #1 during the object course days and was the hole the course was designed around. On a former old-ball par 3 course, the newest disc golf course is cart friendly, has open fields and some tight wooded shots, but is fairly beginner friendly. Little known fact: Hole #13 at Thorpe is the only hole with only one pin position. The course is available year-round and is free! The Thorpe Park Course is Flagstaff’s most heavily used course, featuring challenging holes winding through mature ponderosa pines and scrub oak. Flagstaff’s first two tournaments were a huge success! Thanks to Jerry McLaughlin of Aspen Sports for stepping up to sponsor disc golf in Flagstaff and Lance Plummer for the tournament director duties. The PDGA is the professional association for ALL disc golfers and the source for disc golf courses, tournament results, and the official rules of disc golf. In 1999, club members organized the two tournaments including the Teva Open (now the Aspen Sports Treebash Open). Some of the more competitive players began meeting on a weekly basis to play cash games, and thus began the humble start of the Flagstaff Disc Golf Club (along with the efforts of the course installation). Since then, the course has had concrete teepads installed, multiple sleeves added for alternate pin placements, and several trees were thinned. The baskets were installed in the Fall of 1998 along with natural teepads. The City of Washougal is working on an 9 hole disc golf course along this scenic property to allow people to recreate while taking in the nature beauty of.

During the latter part of the decade, Gary Bennett and friends pitched the idea to the City of Flagstaff to install 18 baskets, mostly following the path of the object course. After you turn into the park, stay on the paved road. From Lakeland, just head south on FL-37 for around 5 miles to Carter Road on the left.

The Thorpe Park Disc Golf Course began as an object (tree) course in the 1990’s. Local Directions: The address is 500 W Carter Rd, Lakeland, FL, but can also be found as 500 W Carter Rd, Mulberry, FL. The 3rd 9-Hole Lake Course which has since been left abandon is now being utilized as a fully dedicated Disc Golf Course providing a beautiful rolling.
